MONTESSORI SCHOOL

Western civilization is pushing for the top. Living in this rush may help us to forget what is important in life. Potentially these lessons can be reflected on our children; when they see a rushed civilization, will they learn to really live in the moment?

My intention is to slow down the high energy of outside life. My design is aimed to enrich the relationships between classmates, instructors, food, health, and nature; to help connect more meaning to the movement within our own lives and in the end slowly introducing mindfulness.

Each separation will hopefully awaken a different focus for each destination. It can help us to be more aware of our surroundings; moving to a higher elevation to read and a lower elevation to engage in social behavior. The steps to each space may also help with separation from past thoughts; it can help you to focus on that moment in time. From your initial entry you may think the structure is part of the land, but it is disconnected like each moment should be in your every day. That moment should be its own in a series that are all intertwined.
